Best Local SEO Service Providers

The best local SEO services are the ones that fit your location count, your budget and how much reporting you need. There is no single winner. For a franchise with dozens of locations, WebFX or Intero Digital make more sense. For a single-location business on a tight budget, a smaller specialist is usually the better buy. Below I compare eight providers on price, contract terms and fit, then give a clear verdict for each type of business.

Disclosure: Skyranko publishes this list, and Skyranko is one of the eight providers on it. I run Skyranko, so weigh our entry accordingly. I have not worked inside the other seven agencies. I judged them only on what they publish on their own websites, checked in September 2026, plus the questions I think every buyer should ask.

What Do Most People Get Wrong When Comparing Local SEO Companies?

They compare service lists. Every agency on this page lists Google Business Profile optimization, citations, reviews and local content. Those lists are nearly identical, so they tell you almost nothing about who will actually move your map rankings, and the same trap catches buyers of organic SEO, as I show in how to choose an SEO agency.

What does decide it? Four things, in my experience: who does the work day to day, whether the pricing is written down, how long you are locked in, and whether the agency plays inside Google’s rules. When I audit a local business that already paid an agency, the damage I find usually comes from the last one. Keyword-stuffed business names and review schemes get profiles suspended.

It’s a pattern I see in audits. A business pays for twelve months, receives a tidy ranking report every month, and the phone rings exactly as often as it did before the contract started, because the report tracked keywords nobody in that town actually types. Pretty charts. No calls.

How I Judged the Best Local SEO Services on This List

Here are the four conditions I used. They shift the answer more than any feature list:

  1. Location count. One location needs a hands-on specialist. Fifty locations need listing software, bulk reporting and a bigger team.
  2. Budget. Published local SEO prices on this list run from $149 a month to $1,325+ per location per month. That spread is the whole story for most small businesses.
  3. Contract terms. Month-to-month is lower risk. A 6- or 12-month lock-in only makes sense when the agency has earned trust.
  4. Policy safety. Google’s guidelines say your business name must match your real-world name, and adding keywords to it “could result in the suspension” of the profile. Any provider that suggests otherwise is out.

Why does this matter so much? The 2026 Whitespark Local Search Ranking Factors survey asked 47 local search experts to score 187 factors, and the two that came out on top for the map pack were your primary Business Profile category and how close the business sits to the person searching, which no agency on earth can change for you. A good provider works hard on the first. It stays honest about the second.

The 8 Local SEO Service Providers Compared

The order below is the original order of this list, not a ranking. The verdict section further down says who should pick whom.

1. WebFX

WebFX, a local SEO provider based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Best for: multi-location brands and franchises that want published pricing and their own reporting platform.

WebFX is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and is one of the few agencies here that prints its local SEO prices. Its local SEO page lists management at $575 per location per month and a content tier at $1,325+ per location per month. Reporting runs through its in-house platform, now called RevenueCloudFX. The weakness is the per-location math: at 10 locations you are past $5,000 a month before any content. Do the math first.

2. Skyranko

Skyranko, the SEO team that publishes this comparison

Best for: single-location and small multi-location businesses that want a specialist team at a small-business price.

This is us, so I will keep it factual. Skyranko is an SEO and web team working from Rajshahi, Bangladesh and Sheridan, Wyoming, founded in 2018. Our local SEO plans run $149 to $299 a month and cover Google Business Profile work, citations, review strategy and local pages. The honest weakness: we are a small team. If you need a proprietary enterprise dashboard across hundreds of locations, one of the larger agencies below is the better fit.

3. SmartSites

SmartSites, a local SEO agency in Paramus, New Jersey

Best for: businesses that want SEO and paid ads under one roof.

SmartSites is based in Paramus, New Jersey, and shows a Google Premier Partner badge on its site. It has a separate franchise SEO page, which tells me it handles multi-location work. Local SEO pricing is quote only, so you cannot compare it before a sales call.

4. The SEO Works

The SEO Works, a UK local SEO agency headquartered in Sheffield

Best for: UK businesses, especially mid-market brands with several storefronts.

The SEO Works is headquartered in Sheffield with offices in London, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham. Its homepage says it was established in 2009, has 80+ specialists and is employee owned. Pricing is quote only. For a US business I would pick a US or time-zone-friendly team instead.

5. HigherVisibility

HigherVisibility, a local SEO provider in Memphis, Tennessee

Best for: single-location shops through to franchises in legal, automotive, healthcare and home services.

HigherVisibility is based in Memphis, Tennessee. Pricing is quote only, but its proposal form asks for a monthly budget starting at “Under $800/mo.”, which gives you a rough floor. It reports through its own InSite dashboard.

6. Intero Digital

Intero Digital, a local SEO agency based in Colorado Springs

Best for: larger multi-location brands that want an enterprise-scale agency.

Intero Digital is headquartered in Colorado Springs with offices in San Diego and Columbus. Its site claims 13,000+ clients served and Google Premier Partner status. Pricing is quote only. A small bakery would be a tiny account here, and I would expect the service level to reflect that.

7. Funnel Boost Media

Funnel Boost Media, a local SEO agency in San Antonio, Texas

Best for: contractors, clinics and local service firms that want month-to-month terms.

Funnel Boost Media is based in San Antonio, Texas, and its domain moved from .com to funnelboostmedia.net. Its pricing FAQ says most clients go month to month after an initial strategy period, with an onboarding fee. Figures are quote only.

8. Searchbloom

Searchbloom, a local SEO provider in South Jordan, Utah

Best for: established local and franchise businesses with a real marketing budget.

Searchbloom is based in South Jordan, Utah. Its homepage says SEO starts at $3,000 per month, with “No Lengthy Contracts.” That is fair money for a franchise and far too much for a single barber shop.

The Verdict: Which of the Best Local SEO Services Should You Pick?

For a single-location business under $500 a month, a specialist such as Skyranko is the better buy because you get hands-on profile work at a price that pays back. However, if you run 10+ locations and need per-location reporting, WebFX or Intero Digital is the correct choice.

My take is simple. Small businesses overpay when they hire an enterprise agency, because they fund a platform they will never use. Big brands underbuy when they hire a two-person shop, because nobody on a team that size can manage 60 profiles, 60 review streams, franchise owners who all want different things and a head office that expects one clean monthly report. Both mistakes are expensive.

Honestly, the published price is my first filter. Two agencies here print real numbers and one prints a starting figure. The rest ask you to book a call, which is fine, but go in knowing your own budget first.

When Does the Answer Flip?

The verdict above holds for most buyers, but three situations change it:

  • If you are in the UK, The SEO Works moves up because it knows UK directories and time zones.
  • If you also run Google Ads, SmartSites or HigherVisibility make sense so one team owns both channels.
  • If your profile was suspended or hit by a spam edit, skip pure growth agencies for now. You need recovery and reinstatement work first.

There is also a fourth, quieter case. If your market is a small town where only three or four competitors exist and none of them has more than a handful of reviews, you may not need an agency at all for the first six months, because steady reviews and a correct primary category will often do most of the lifting. Try it yourself first.

How to Choose a Local SEO Company in 30 Minutes

When you get on a call with any provider, including us, ask these questions (the full list of 12, with red flags, is in how to choose a local SEO company):

  1. Who owns my Google Business Profile? You must stay the owner; the agency should be a manager.
  2. Will you add keywords or city names to my business name? The only right answer is no.
  3. How do you get reviews? Google’s review policy bans incentives and bans selectively asking only happy customers.
  4. What do I see each month? Calls, direction requests and form leads beat vanity rankings.
  5. What happens if I leave after three months? Get the answer in writing.

One more reason to choose carefully. BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 found 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and 45% now use AI tools like ChatGPT for recommendations. A provider still selling only rankings is selling last decade’s job. If you want to run the basics yourself first, my local SEO checklist walks you through a full audit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Do the Best Local SEO Services Cost?

On this list, published prices run from $149 a month (Skyranko’s entry plan) to $575–$1,325+ per location per month (WebFX), and Searchbloom says SEO starts at $3,000 a month. Most agencies quote privately. For one location, I think $150–$800 a month is a sensible range to compare.

Is It Worth Hiring a Local SEO Company Instead of Doing It Myself?

If you have 3–4 hours a week and patience, you can handle a single profile yourself. Hire help (agency or freelancer, which I weigh up in local SEO agency vs freelancer) when you have several locations, a suspended profile, or competitors who clearly outwork you on reviews and pages. If your growth comes from organic search rather than the map, my SEO agency vs freelancer guide weighs the same choice for stores and SaaS sites.

How Long Does Local SEO Take to Show Results?

In my experience, profile fixes such as the right primary category can move map rankings within weeks. Reviews, links and local pages take 3–6 months to compound. Be wary of anyone promising a timeline without seeing your market first.

Should an Agency Ever Guarantee a Top-3 Map Pack Spot?

No. Proximity is a top-ranked factor and nobody controls where a searcher is standing. A guarantee usually means the agency plans to pick an easy keyword or use tactics Google can punish.
